Yet more proof that record sales do not "=" talent

    from reuters:

Despite a decade of critical acclaim, the Roots have never sold more than 906,000 units of any album (with 1999's "Things Fall Apart"), according to Nielsen SoundScan. Their last album, 2006's "Game Theory," stalled at 204,000 copies. Continued...

What a ****ing TRAGEDY. Game Theory is a classic album, regardless of genre.

That does make me sad. One of the best albums of 2006 with no doubt in my mind.

If they would make up a dance, have no mic skills, theyd be selling quick.

I think Lupe Fiasco's debut stalled at around 200,000 as well.

        Ridiculous.

Great rap group, Hip Hop history will remember them even if the mainstream markets don't.

              yet more proof, again

              from sohh.com

"Fort Myers, Florida rapper Plies looks to sell between 150,000 and 250,000 in his opening week with his sop****re release Definition of Real."

I wasted over an hour listening to that whole bull**** album. At least I was playing GTA online at the same time, so it wasn't all a waste of my time.
