    Projectors vs TVs

My wife damaged the living room TV, so I was doing some research into getting a new TV until I stumbled across an article on projectors.

Projectors have come a long way, so i did some research and found out instead of spending 2g-3g on a 65-75 inches tv, I could get a $1500 4k projector. I bought 135 inch motorized screen for $200 and now I have one of the most mind blown experience at home. My wife doesn't want to watch any movie anymore unless we using the projector.

Anyone here using projector over tv...what is your experience?

megas, good call, you can't beat the screen size with a conventional tv. Quality HD projectors can be had for cheap these days. Only downside is some of them don't show too well during daytime. I've been using them for about 10 years now, and I can't imagine life without one.

Projectors are the dirty little secret that many people dont have any idea about. Im glad you like it, with the right speakers youll feel like youre in a theater.

That daytime thing can be overcome with a designated theater room. Just black out all the ambient lights and you are good. I turned one of my living room into a designated theater room, so I can watch movie anytime of the day.

Definitely. I think as more people discover them, TVs will become less popular. With movies popping up online a month after released, I dont feel the need to go the theaters anymore. With this quarantine thing, all the movies are being released online. Me and the family are really enjoying this.

Yep. Got a viewsonic Px747-4K on sale. Was well worth it, as it was also made to use with ambience light.

It works great! It can do anything! Ambient light no problem.

If you have the right conditions at home a quality projector is worth it.

Can you mirror apps like YouTubeTV from a tablet to the projector?
Does it have a USB port for a Fire Stick? Or an HDMI input to connect to your PC?
