[REAL TALK] Has anyone ever owned a Mini Cooper? Are they fast ?

    Hello,

I am looking for more information about mini coopers. They seem like very fun cars. For the price point of $30,000 USD would you buy one?

How fast are they? I saw one new Mini Cooper with 221 horsepower.

I was thinking down the line of maybe a Acura ILX but I randomly started to think about a Mini Cooper since I rarely see them around.

I know they have bmw parts, I used to own a bimmer and that damn car stayed in the shop and the maintenance kept me in the poor house.

Rented one once and that thing could get up. Was in Germany though and a diesel which they don't sell in the states due to emissions or some crap like that. Was going to buy one but ended up changing my mind because I couldn't bring it back

They are like BMWs in that the cost of ownership is pretty high.

I believe Cooper is owned by BMW.

Parts on them will be expensive, and they likely wont be easy to work on.

Do you ever check Scotty Kilmer's YouTube channel? He gives good advice on cars.

Yes bmw owned them since 2000. I am well aware of the maintenance since I owned a X3.

I am more interested in the driving experience.n

I haven’t driven a car that had more issues than the Mini. My wife had a mini S when we first met and my sister had one as well. I will be straight out with you. It’s a sht car.

Both minis ive dealt with had to be taken to the shops numerous times for issues big and small and they were driven softly by women. On top of my head, car has ****** problems and whole buncha other sht. My friend who owns car shop loves then because it gives em so much business. Another issue is cost. Parts are expensive and not anybody can work on a mini. It’a just a whole lot of headache.

As far as speed, that’s kinda subjective but as a guy who has driven several fast cars, Id say mini cooper even the stick shift aint that fast.

It’s a girl car bruh and it will give you stress like one too.

At that price, id rather get a Prius or spend a little more for Tesla 3...

Trust me, Mini cooper is not a good car.

Years back, a Korean drama blew up and the Mini too because the main character drove one. After that **** load of grown man started driving one with flowers on the antenna and sht like little btchs.

Sorry young man but im giving you an honest breakdown and perception of that car.

Noted!! I will look into an Infinite or Acura for my next car. Japanese is the way to go.

I was more so looking into the driving experience of the car, that's why i was asking previous owners. However Thank you for your opinion.

I am more of a Silverado guy my self. I used to love that luxary liconln pickup truck but they discontinued it.
