I believe it had to do with energy savings during or post-WWI. An extra hour of daylight meant less burning of kerosene, candles, electricity while encouraging everyone to wake up earlier to start their day.

One of the ******est ideas in the history of ****** ideas in my book. The issue was they wanted to make better use of the daylight apparently and some moron decided it was easier to adjust the entire measuring system than to simply to tell the relevent part of the workforce to come in to work an hour earlier.

So basically tricking everyone to just get up an hour earlier with this imaginary clock/time bs.

Overall, I agree with you, they should just leave the time alone. On the other hand, it does leave more time available for outside evening activities.

I think it was first introduced in France during WWI when supplies were short. It's been unnecessary for the last hundred years. Not sure why we continue to do it. I think Arizona is one of the only or few states that doesn't acknowledge DST.

I thought farming had something to do with it too?

I also read a few years back that the change has had a negative impact the heart too. Your body clock doest like being messed with routinely.

I did used to like the extra hour in my youth though when you get an extra hour of saturday night drinking lol

God I hate it. The sun starts going down at 4:30 here and is dark by 5pm. I live in the corn fields and I always heard it was something like so the farmers could get more sunlight in the morning or some ****? Either way they need to nix it. They keep voting to get rid of it but it never passes.

It was because of the War. A popular myth is that it has to do with farmers, but farmers get up when they need to, they don't **** with the clocks
