It seems like every other day there is a mass shooting. It's out of control, but what can be done about it?

What solution would you implement to decrease the ever rising gun violence in this country?

Limit the amount of guns you can purchase at any one time. Most illegal guns on the street are bought in bulk and then sold on the streets. Allow only one handgun or rifle purchase per week, per customer, or something along those lines.

Start enforcing existing laws and establish harsher ones for illegal gun possession. Caught with an illegal gun--one that isn't yours...automatic 20 year sentence, if you actually used the illegal weapon, life sentence, no time off or early parole.

Stiffer penalties for felons. Many of the people shooting one another are repeat offenders, career felons. Had they served their full sentence from the beginning they likely wouldn't be on the street to shoot someone.

If a shooter is under the age of 18, hold the parents responsible. Too many of the shooters, be it crazy mass shooters or gang members, are minors. Where are their parents? Why aren't they more involved in their kid's lives? If parents know they can do time for negligence, they may just try harder to keep their kids out of trouble or from going on a kill spree. Track down them deadbeat dads that are often out of the picture and never stuck around to be a strong male role model, throw them in jail too.

None of these things will happen. The left would rather grab your guns and blame the guns. They also don't want half this country to own guns at all, regardless of crime rates.

Better security and police response. I heard during one of these school shootings that the cops took way longer than they should have and were outside the school and could've entered sooner. Don't know what they were waiting for. And the states with conceal to carry and less strict gun laws have less crime, so all states should be like that too.

No high powered weapons.....under any circumstance.
Civilians don't need them.

Make laws harsher for those breaking guns laws.
Whatever the punishment is now, triple it.....No parole or time off for good behavior..

Only licence guns for legitimate reasons. And self defence is not a legitimate reason. Most people who carry guns for self defence do so because they live their lives in fear. Living your life in fear makes you jittery. Jittery people put other people in danger. Perhaps there should be certificate requirement...where only people who have passed a recognised arms course can be licenced....and that arms course must include training in threat assesment.
