As said there was the Mayan language, but the thing is Mayan gliphs, a lot of them to this day cannot be deciphered. They had a complex relationship to astrology, the cycles of nature, etc...

I actually know a few Mexican guys who looks more Indian-like and they speak a Mayan language that most Mexicans don't understand

The Spanish really did a job on those cultures, so did the Portuguese..

They destroyed what they didn’t understand

The Pope Divided the world between two countries— both are completely insignificant now.

There are still people in Mexico, (Chiapas) who don’t know Spanish.

There are peoples in Brazil who do not know Portuguese

What did the Treaty of Tordesillasdo? In theory, the Treaty of Tordesillas divided the New World into Spanish and Portuguese spheres of influence. The treaty amended papal bulls issued by Pope Alexander VI in 1493.May 31, 2022
          Role In: Treaty of Tordesillas
Title / Office: king (1481-1495), Portugal
Died: October 1495 (aged 40) Portugal
          Date: June 7, 1494

Gotta add this, 1492, the ***s forced to go with these explorers(f thieves) to the New World, France was just starting to get their provinces together, but the Pope was boss playa.

I gotta add this tidbit, native peoples got wiped out by the diseases for Europe and so did the African people.

I can off the top of my head add so much but enough for now

Look up trail of tears and how native Americans got pox

              - - The Spanish as late as the 1700s recorded hundreds of tribes and dialects on what's now the Texas/Mexican border alone.

There are still speakers of these native tongues.

Sadly those are the ones who get discriminated against by the ones with more European features
