I have my 2nd and 3rd fight coming up and i came out and did not fight to the best of my abilities in my first fight. I still managed to stop the other guy because i broke his nose but for some reason im worried i might come out and not fight to my potential. I've been doing great in my sparring sessions lately and want to take that performance to the ring come fight night. Anybody has any tips to help me ?

Try to remember why you box. Do you box because you want the big money and the women? Do you box because you want to defend yourself? Do you box to make yourself feel like a big man?
Or, if you are like me, do you box, simply because it is fun as hell, and there is no other feeling in the world like it?
Whenever I used get in the ring, I used to be afraid, because all those skills I thought I had, were going to be tested. And if I was found to be lesser than I thought, I knew my ego would take a huge shot. It made me timid.
Then one day, I realized something. I was sparring with this guy that always whoops my ass, and I had this feeling of euphoria all of a sudden (not from a punch). It was the strangest thing. I realized that I kept getting in that ring, because it is better than any amazing food, its better than sex (sometimes), and it makes me happy. I love boxing. And I realized, win or lose, I love to box. And I will always love to box, even if I lose every fight.
Strangely after this moment, I relaxed, I fell into my groove, I felt this effortlessness in my movements and punches, like there was no pressure to perform. I was just doing what I loved, that was all. And the crazy thing? I actually did better against the guy. I was catching him more often, disrupting his rhythm, and really learned from that session.
If you are anything like most people who like to box, even if you got beat up every time, something about it calls you, just thinking of it makes you smile. So remember, no pressure. You arent a better person if you win, you are still yourself. So dont go out there to win, go out there to do what you love with all your heart.
This works for me at least to think about before a match.

If you broke a dudes nose and stopped him id feel pretty confident about myself if I was you... Just listen to your ipod and zone out for the day of the fight.. You gotta imagine every time you fight like it could be your last, so you gotta just go out and try your hardest... How old are you?
