    Another new life...

Hello, i been looking around the forum and there seems to be a lot of nice people here with some brains, im here for help, i hope to learn alot and end up becoming a active member helping out other people.

    so..

Ive decided to change my life.
For the last few years i have not eaten well,
not exercised, and smoked pot... Alot.

    Age:18
    Height: 178cms(5ft 10inch)
    Weight: 60kgs(132LB)
    Body fat: 11%

I also have a really fast metabolism.
I want to do a month of getting myself fit and to get
myself use to doing a routine before going hardcore on the boxing side
of things. Ive devised myself a plan to try and gain weight and get
    fit/bulk up.

6.30: Workout for around 30-45 minutes.
    breakfast(6 weetbix)
Protein shake before work(1 egg, 1 bannana, milk, protein powder)
    Work...
10-11ish: Ill eat a protein bar.
lunch: Found some nice tuna pasta / tuna salad recipes in ur recipes sticky.
    1-3ish: ill snack on peanuts.
    Walk dog.
***i need something here to get my heart beating again***
Dinner: Mums home cooking. Always veggies n meats in there.

    The morning workout will be;
    situps, stretches.
I will be using dumbells/bench press for back/shoulder/bicep/triceps.

What do you think? hints? tips?
Should i be incorporating boxing exercises, skipping?
Maybe get a heavy bag etc?

I Will not start this for another week because i had a motorbike accident and im grazed and cant move my elbow / knees properly, need to heal first.

        Im going to join boxing.

Once... i feel im fit enough to.. like i literally can only run for about 1 minute and im near been physically sick, and ready to pass out.

Id rather have a bit of muscle built up and be fit enough to handle what boxing at the gym dishes out. (by what ive heard i could not handle even a 3 minute round on a heavy bag)

Rounds on the heavy bag are very tiring. It doesnt even look tirng but it is. But keep on doing it and run alot to build up your endurance. Also you dont need to develop good muscles before joining a boxing gym. I was a pretty skinny guy when I joined but you can get stronger as you are in the gym. Anyways, you should try to get more endurance since that sounds like the part where you are most behind in. Work hard and you'll be able to have a 180 degree turn in your life. (Note* Your lack of stamina/endurance is most likely because of your smoking. Since you stopped if you train hard in it, you should get back your stamina. Good Luck)

            Hwann.

Yea i think it is the smoking.. I use to actually be quite fit and was always in the top percent of people at the school for running carnivals.

Ill try to do some running every day. Thx.

Ive heard skipping is good to get the endurance up to? pretty tiring i hear? ill have to go buy a rope.

Just go to the boxing gym. Everyone and their mom tries to get in shape to be ready, but in all honesty, nothing can get you ready. You can be a marathon runner and you will be gasping for air just as badly as the guy that has never worked out a day in his life.

Yeah and if you want fast arms i wouldn't lift, the only lifting i would do is Shrugs which build you'r back and shoulders.

Skipping rope is a great start to build up stamina i used to be tired after few minutes but now i can probably skip for about half an hour no break.
Definently get a heavy bag probably one of the most important things in boxing as you get stronger get a heavier one this would build tremoundous strength.
And you have to eat more then you are now. No Junk Food, throw away any chips, Cookies, Donuts you have.
As far as working out, i usually do it every day, with a break every weekend depending on how my body feels. I personally see improovements in the areas i work out. Some people workout every 3 days and it really depends on you're body.
Once you start working out don't do alot of reps, increase the ammount of reps in you're excersizes every week and gradually you will build up.
And Good Luck man, you should stop the pot. I know its hard but you need as much Stamina as possible.

Join the gym now, don't wait until you're fit enough because seriously, I played the same game, saying I was going to get fit for boxing and I was just as unfit when I said that as I was when I joined. You will be tired to start with and you will ache but they push you, you wont push yourself. It's like when I used to do exercise i'd go until I was abit tired and then be like i'm done, now I will push myself because of the goal and the change in mentality because i've started training. If you can't do the exercises they won't laugh or make fun of you, they wont do anything but try and motivate you. A good gym will know that when you join they don't care whether or not you can do it all, it's about whether or not you've done your best and are truly as tired as everyone else. Not for that "oo so long as you tried" bull****, but because your body gets fitter by pushing itself, some people are fitter than others - fact, therefore some people can do more than others -fact so it's about finding your limit, pushing it and then constantly moving that limit further and further back each time. I still can't do all of the press ups they try and make us do, they try and make us do a load of press ups, clap press ups, diamond press ups, wide press ups, I can't do them all so I don't, but I try and try to do them until he moves on and i'm doing more and more each time.
