Comments Thread For: After Saturday's upset, Martin Bakole already has eyes on next target

After scoring an upset over Jared Anderson on Saturday in Los Angeles, Martin Bakole said he prefers to next fight either the winner of the Oleksandr Usyk-Tyson Fury rematch or Michael Hunter, in a rematch of their own.

I like Hunter but I haven't seen anything recent to suggest he would be able to repeat his win over Bakole. I'm surprised Martin mentioned him as a potential next opponent, it seems like a step back since Hunter hasn't kept himself relevant.

On another note, crazy that Bakole.is Junior Makabu's younger brother. Imagine the sibling dust-ups in that household!

Give the man his due, that was no upset. Most of us saw it coming. Bakole is better than most knew, and Anderson was exposed.

Never say Bakole fight before, he looks like a bad MFR with big power and very confident.

Bakole is much stronger than Anderson physically. Anderson was simply exposed. He never waw a top boxer. Ruiz/Miller vs Bakole would be cool

Not sure why they call it an upset, I had it pretty much a 50/50 fight leaning towards bakole’s power , totally disrespectful to call it an upset .

Take it easy Bakole, fight the winner of Joshua vs Dubois first, or Kabayel.

Top Rank made a big mistake matching Jared so soft for his first 17 fights. The Martin fight should have been an eye opener as far as the potential of Anderson. Imo he needs to work on sticking to a game plan that saw him easily win rounds. Defense is poor also. Here's hoping they match Torres a little tougher so he can develop into a contender. Where does Jared go from here? He can come back but will he want to after that pummeling he took? I wouldn't be surprised if TR released him from his contact he looked so bad after getting dropped. Kudos to Bakole, I picked Anderson to win big.

I didn't see it as an upset, I thought either what happened would happen or if Anderson was on the level he would use his speed and mobility to try and win on points. We just couldn't say for certain where he was at until last night.

Won some good money on this. Anderson hasn't been ready, was being fed cab drivers.
