Winning a version of the ibf title and being rated as the ring best heavyweight was that over achieving or could of he done a lot more, did he under achieve? Big Fights with Tyson, Toney, Lewis failed to happen but he did beat Vitali forcing the giant to retire claiming shoulder problems but watch the fight with no volume Bryd was frustrating and tiring out vitali maybe even hurting him to the body, vitali hurt shoulder then seen the exit door, other good wins over evander and tua were scored for Bryd

Over achiever,, kinda like Michael moorer,, smaller guys that bumped up to heavy for bigger money and won titles.
Byrd had a decent run at heavy and since 2000 is probably the best heavy besides the klits

He got what he deserved and that is he is a former Heavyweight champion and has sealed his legacy. But I think he is really underrated considering his small size/reach and how big his opposition was. I wish he accomplished more because he was very skilled but any other era I still see him coming up short of being heavyweight champ. We need another small guy like Byrd in the Heavyweight division. I'm so tired of all these bums who are considered contenders.

Originally posted by Johnny heard View PostBig wow he had surgery it's combat sports that can happen, we're u get a injury in a fight then afterwards have to have surgery , fact of the matter is he could of carried on but he didn't want to, he knew the tide was changing and he wanted out, it was written all over his face, that's y he was willing to fight to the death with Lewis, cause he knew he bottled it against Byrd and he had a point to prove to the boxing world

I can make a long list of top fighters who went out that way. But I guess you have your story and have decided what the truth needs to be to validate it.
