My money would be on the modern Englishman. He is too big ( height, weight , reach ) and hits too hard. He is also skilled with a good jab and hammer of a right hand.... and he is in shape and had no problems going 12 rounds. LaStarza might last to the later rounds, but would be on the defensive. Coo Kell would be out inside five rounds.

In between those wins Valdez was the number one,at the end of 1953,and 1954.

Dubois strength would be his size, he also has nice punching power with a decent jab. He has also become fairly defensively responsible. And he is getting better.

His problem would be in a 15-round fight. He also does not have the footwork that at least the LaStarza seemed to have.

But I think he could usually win these fights and overcome these two obstacles.
