The 2016 Olympic champion Tony Yoka continued to revive his career on Saturday when at the Adidas Arena in Paris, France, he earned a unanimous decision via scores of 98-92, 96-94 and 97-93 to inflict the first defeat in the career of Arslan Yallyev of Russia.
The Frenchman’s victory was his third in succession, following three successive defeats, by Martin Bakole, Carlos Takam and Ryad Merhy. The 33 year old improves to 14-3 (11KOs). Yallyev, who is 28 years old, falls to 16-1 (10KOs).
In Leeuwarden, Netherlands, the 11-0 (10KOs) Dutchman Willy Kyakonye stopped Wilmer Vasquez, 13-4-2 (8KOs), of Venezuela inside a round.
Kyakonye next fights Belgium’s Michael Essomba, 10-1 (9KOs), on June 14.
