Jake Wyllie’s reward for his heroics at short notice against George Kambosos is a headline fight on August 23 at the Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane. There, Wyllie will fight Youseff Dib, it was announced today.

Wyllie, 17-2 (16), went the full 12 rounds with Kambosos, a former world lightweight champion, back in March and was roundly praised for both his performance and for stepping in to save the show at five days’ notice. He has since followed that losing effort with a one-round stoppage of Saharat Taehirun.

Dib, meanwhile, is also from Australia and currently holds a 21-3 (11) pro record. He has lost his last two fights, both against Liam Wilson, and will be desperate to get back to winning ways against Wyllie next month.
