French cruiser Leonardo Mosquea, 17-0 (10 KOs), stopped Argentinian Ivan Gabriel Garcia, who was retired in the ninth round of this scheduled 10-rounder last night in Bron (a suburb of Lyon).
Garci, 10-4-1 (10 KOs), was down in the second but proved to be tougher than expected and better than his record would indicate.
Mosquea, WBA No. 3, won the vacant WBA Ibero-American title – a relatively new invention by the WBA – and is now expected to be moved into an eliminator against compatriot and ex-champ Arsen Goulamirian, WBA No. 2.
