          If you keep your jaw loose, you have a far bigger chance of getting it broken/dislocated. This is why it's important to be well conditioned. If you're breathing out of your mouth because you're tired, you could get your jaw cracked if you're not careful. You should always try and bite down on your mouthpiece.

              bite down and roll, secret to an iron chin

              the whole objective is to not get yoru jaw pulled on, if you're slacking with your mouth open you could roll a little too late and that punch will have wizzed by doing some damage(albiet not as much as if you hadn't rolled at all)
