        It actually isn't anything like that. There is a chart that gives you the appropriate sets/reps for your current fitness level.

          A chart that advice you to do more and more pushup, even if according to your fitness level.


          If a noob would ask ME how to do more push up, I would advice him to follow a circuital training, with push ups, weight lifting and resistance training (with resistance bands).


          But that's just my 2 cents.
