I don't know if another man who did this would get the same respect.
did you complain when juan diaz fought malignaggi at a CW? who had the leverage there? both were coming off hard losses. why did juan diaz fought malignaggi at 138.5456892736 and not 140? the reason? to make possible good fights for fighters of diff weight classes.

stop being idealistic for one sec and face the real world.

Sorry bro but considering Manny had already fought Oscar at the full 147 WW limit your point is completely irrelevant. They did not NEED to make the fight at 145 so two good fighters to fight, and they were not 2 fighters from different weight classes, they had both fought at the full WW limit in their previous boughts. Say what you want, but the 2 pound difference was an simply a leverage constraint used by the bigger draw to gain an advantage.

I never said your theory on catchweights nor your historical points were wrong. I said that isn't what happened with Manny v Cotto. So for MAlig and Diaz to fight ata catchweight makes sense.

To ask a champion to defend his title at less than the max weight of the division doesn't. particularly when TRULY great fighters moving up have not done so. I can only imagine your reaction if Floyd asked CAstillo to fight at 128 or ODH at 152.

dude, oscar chose the weight, he himself had to go down one weight class while manny had to move up TWO. and still manny only weighed 142. he was never a full WW before or even now. whats your point?

why would floyd fight castillo at 128 if floyd was the SFW champ already, doesnt make sense. i wouldve no beef w/ floyd fighting oscar at a CW, i never saw oscar as a full blown JMW, he has the height, but not the frame.

I should've posted 133 but you get my point. If you don't mind I can't argue with your opinion. I have no problem for instance if floyd (147) fought Martinez (160) at 155 to see who is better.

I would HAVE a problem if floyd (147) makes Martinez defend the 160 lb title at 155 lbs because that isn't a catchweight fight.

I can only speak for myself. I like the fight with Marquez and ****ted on the fight with the Shane from the start. Shane hadn't won a fight in over 2 years and it showed.

No one is queztioning the legitimacy of the fight. But there is no doubt it would be more competitive at 140.
but why not demand or say the same thing when pbf jmm met? again, resorting to such double standards is not good....pbf paying the penalty does not take away the stigma of not meeting an agreed weight....also, you are like pbf wanting to dictate his terms to others

I like Canelo. He's pretty ahead of the curve for 20 years old.

This is the truth! No asian has dominated boxing. Ever. Now we have 2 in the top 5 P4P. One is ducking steroid allegations, refuses to test, afraid of needles, doesnt want to give an advantage (because he always wants the advantage) and the other is getting his vitamins from none other than VICTOR CONTE, Mr, Balco himself.

Yea, I think that's a good cause for speculation.
