One thing is that Barrios is tall but does not move his head and he represents the low hanging fruit. All great fighters have one fight left in them but Manny is at an advanced age.CPNUTKnockoutFreshMart

I hate that this fight is happening. I understand the appeal, I truly do. Win or lose, Manny was always a fun watch and boxing fans are hoping for a "lightning in a bottle, Rocky part 6" kinda story. But it just bothers me. He has no business stepping back into the ring at his age with his level of inactivity against this level of opposition. The possibility of him defying everything to make a magic night is surely there, but it is way more likely he gets beat down. I am a huge fan of Manny. Huge.

Few factors. He looked average against Ugas. Ugas is the type of opponent that can shell up and make it hard for anyone to look good.
He looked pretty bad in the exhibitions. That said, he wasn't training seriously for those bouts. They were something to do/ make some money fights. They weren't serious.
His age is a factor but IMO not as much as people think. 46 is ancient for guys who let themselves get fat, aren't active and eat garbage food living party lifestyles. Pac has always been in shape and plays basketball constantly and lifts. He doesn't party and he eats healthy. He hasn't lost a lot of speed and he still has KO power. His footwork is likely still very high level.
Where the age really comes in is reflexes and stamina. It is a good sign that he is looking sharp in camp. He isn't that old biologically and I expect his reflexes will still be pretty good. Where I could see him having issues is that he is going to have to pace himself more than he ever has. He used to fly around like a nut for most of his fights and he landed from crazy angles and then get out. He just befuddled guys.
He has to fight in spurts and let the openings come naturally. Barrios is not a great fighter. But he is big and he is solid. Pac can win if he fights smart and picks his spots. If he can hurt Barrios inside the first five rounds he can win. If he doesn't I think he will likely wear down stamina wise over the last half of the fight and lose a UD.Last edited by Theshotyoudontsee; 06-26-2025, 02:50 PM.

I just hope that he can at least last the distance. No one wants to see their hero get stopped or carried out out on their shield.
If Barrios has any class. He would take it easy on him. This is a legendary icon fighter we are talking about here.
If he senses in any kind of way that Pac is no longer a threat to him then he should do the honorable thing by carrying him to the final bell.
He has nothing prove by beating up an old man.

If Manny can grow his legendary pinch to full length by fight night, i give him a good chance of beating Barrios. It will go down as the return of the Filipino Samson!
