David Benavidez cannot go to cruiserweight or heavyweight and do some damage there because he will not be able to hurt anyone. We still need to see if his power has carried to 175. On the evidence so far, it hasn't. We can allow for possible hand injury against Gvozdyk, so the jury is still out on how destructive he can be at 175. This next fight will be a perfect test.

Despite the difference in pro experience, I have to go with Morrell. He's just more skilled and Benavidez is defensively open. Morrell could even make it look easy, I see him jabbing Benavidez all night, and effectively counter punching until he KOs Benavidez.

For Benavidez to have a chance, he's to make it an inside fight.

Kind of crazy that nobody has picked up Lampley as a guest commentator for any fights these days. I imagine he's officially retired in his mind, but his love for the sport is still clearly there. I think he would be awesome jumping around to different networks as a guest commentator and bringing back some of his flair to the fights.

I disagree that Morrell can't win in a firefight with Benavidez , he's actually got better one punch power and power overall than Benavidez. Morrell is a bigger puncher than Benaviidez. I would advise Morrell to throw about 75% to the body and 25% to the head of Benavidez ,assuming that they're about evenly guarded, punch those arms and shoulders too. I'd have him use this strategy for 8 or 9 rounds , since Benavidez always comes on late. By breaking him down through the early and mid rounds MORELL will take away Benavidez ability to turn it up late. There's also a good possibility that Morrell hurts Benavidez early and gets him out of there. IMO , conditioning is going to be very important in this bout.

I agree, conditioning will be very important and I would also add chin. Who can take the other guys punches better? They both can hit pretty hard, but who has a better chin? We are about to find out.

It looks like he recently took a job with PPV.com, but I can't tell if he will actually be calling fights or just doing exclusive interviews/spots.

In recent weeks, I've seen him as a guest on smaller YT channels in anticipation of this fight. So seems like he's back in some capacity.

Very dangerous fight for Benevidez, facing a skilled, powerful southpaw with 4" reach advantage, 1" height advantage. No doubt about it, Morrell will land multiple, clean, hard shots on Benevidez. Will Benny see them and handle them is the question. 50/50 fight..

Morrell hasn't fought anybody and both David's don't carry there power to 175. They bought get hammered by Beterbiev. The only advantage they have is Beterbiev is old and coming from Injuries.

They are fighting each other before they get exposed.

I don't think Morrell can even beat Bivol, he is slow and very little footwork.
