Well im not really trying to defend canelo tbh here dude and I dont really need any counter argument ,the record is there for everyone to see it , all of those fighters mentioned were world champions or former, the only one I would except tho is the Khan and Ryder fights. Not bad wins but not among the best imo.

If the ginger such a fraud how come pretty much everybody from 154 all the way to 175 wants to fight him? Cant be just cause of money, who else got a better resume of all the active fighters?

Lets be honest here, if Canelo fights and beats Benny ,detractors won't cease to exist. We saw that with Floyd, Pacquiao ,even with Bud ffs. You know it I know it.

isnt floyds career tarnished by all the ducking he did? now canelos is as well. do you mean if canelo beats benavidez a new guy for canelo to fight will emerge? yeah thats how sports works. you dont win the superbowl then say ok im not playing any good teams next year or for 5 years in a row etc..., you can only do that in boxing and its a choice if you are a coward. real ones dont do that. guys who want to artificially extend their careers and bask in that adulation do that. there is building up a fight and then there is avoiding a fight.

It is the money. Period. Just like everyone wanted to fight Floyd, DLH, SRL, and so on. The difference is that SRL and DLH would take on all comers.

            Good points.

Honestly no one would have much to say about Canelo if he'd just relinquish and let guys like Morrell and Benavidez fight for the belts.

Canelo can fight anyone he wants, I won't pay for it either way. But to sit on belts for years and never fight the top contenders.....I mean there is no excuse for that, at all. His fanboys say that he has somehow earned it, it isn't his fault, haters gonna hate. Hating means want to see the best fighters in each class fight? Huh?

But you can't argue logic with fanboys. Canelo fought some good fighters. He has at least two more losses and probably really three.

I give him credit for fighting GGG. But he lost both fights against an aged GGG.

At this point it's just more like, go away dude. You have been ****ting on the sport for years. At least stop squatting on belts you dont deserve.

Canelo has proven everything he needs to prove. He is of the Roberto Duran / Marvin Hagler mold. Best and most loved fighter since that era. Looking forward to see how Canelo handles this giant, powerful Berlanga, who most have ducked in the division.

There was a thread about this exact point on the history board a couple weeks ago. Once you sift through all the bias and fervor that any Floyd related post brings up you might find my point.

Floyd built his early career (PBF) taking on really good competition, before becoming Money May and waiting out opponents marinating, etc. Whereas Canelo built his name up by picking off big names who were past their prime, then used that to become the shot caller, and still marinate opponents or duck them.

Both were great fighters, but Floyd's early career (PBF, prior to retirement 1) was what frees him up from being as tarnished.

It has been an honour to watch the Mexican great he deserves the money and accolades he is greatness. Trying to pick apart his wins like a loser won’t achieve much just appreciate the man you’ll be telling your grandkids about him.

I'm sorry, but Canelo dumped his belt to avoid prime GGG. Mentioning him in the same breath with Duran and Hagler is ridiculous.
