“This was Pacquiao’s first bout at welterweight, following his catchweight victory that retired De La Hoya.”
It was also start of multiple catchweight for PAC including the catchweight of 150 for a vacant title at 154. Unbelievable!

Hence the “8 division title winner”.

Yeah, Todd Grisham, Chris Mannix, Joe Tessitore and Mauro Ranallo are so much better right?

Mauro Ranallo and his cheesy little quips are beyond corny - everything about that guy is pure cheese - the WWE-style announcing is so offensive when put to boxing. He single-handedly cheapens the whole affair. Please, don't ever want to see or hear that guy again. Is he still trying to grow his hair long-ish like a 90's vampire?

Mannix is that kid from the neighborhood over who always made sure to let everyone know he got a new bike - and that it cost $900....and he got new shoes - and they cost $100....etc, etc. He's had moments of being completely disrespectful to fighters in some post-fight interviews. Guy has zero likability or personality.

Are they better as in overall historical knowledge of the sport? Absolutely not! Are they better as in keeping their personal political views off air and not mixing them into the broadcast? Absolutely! Well, maybe not Mannix!

                Agree!
On the other hand, I like Sergio Mora.

He forgot to mention that fight was also a catchweight (145).
