The matchmaking for Stevenson has been horrible (nothing new with African American fighters on TR), and if they don’t get him in the ring with Herring or Valdez soon they run the risk of killing all the hype the former Olympian has garnered to this point. I wouldn’t mind seeing Farmer or Colbert as well, but if TR can’t even get the champs they have on contracts to fight Shakur. I have to little to no hope they can convince those high priced contenders to challenge him for an interim belt. I acknowledge and am impressed by the talent Stevenson possesses, but they have yet to book him in a must see matchup. Its getting to that Andrade stage where I’ll just refuse to watch his future fights if he doesn’t challenge himself with quality opposition
No matter who They match him with, it's going to be boring. Stevenson, Haney, Andrade are boring because they choose to be boring, they have to fight like that because it's the only way they can win, as soon as they engage or mix it up, these guys know they will get knocked out. Because they are boxers and not fighters who choose to box but have more than boxing skills. All these guys have are boxing skills and nothing else to resort too like a top level boxer who can fight and box.

Andre Ward kept saying, after seeing the inferior nature of the opponent, that
Stevenson needs to step it up and do what has to be done so he can go home early.
Haha... as if Shakira would just KO the Takila fella, then go straight home without being
confronted by the producers, media, etc.

The thing that bothered me was the incessant one-shot pot-shotting. He never threw combos at all. He didn't really ever put himself in a position to let his hands go. He had so much more hand speed than the other guy it was a damn shame.

He really doesn't enjoy getting hit which is understandable, but jesus take a risk once in a while especially when it's a pretty safe bet you will succeed.

This mostly true but the reality is Stevenson is going to be extremely difficult to beat as long as he fights in this style. He is going to rack up win after win.

i don’t like it as a fan, but if I was a boxer and capable of fighting that way that is exactly what I would do. No sense in getting your brains scrambled.

Then guess what, his bank account would stay the same. KO's and some personality is what sell in boxing and he doesn't have either.

I fell asleep watching the fight last night. Luckily, I recorded it to try to watch it again today.

I lasted about 3 rounds into this fight before finding something else to watch, which is saying a lot because I've suffered through dozens of fights from the likes of John Ruiz, Cory Spinks, Casamayor, Wlad, etc, without even thinking about changing the channel.

“I tried to [get him out of there] a little bit, but I started getting hit with some solid shots. I ain’t really like it, but next time I’m going to work on moving my head a little bit more and step it up a little more.”

                  Hmm......

It's never a good sign when the house announcer is saying something like that about the house fighter.
Timmy also said (or maybe it was Andre) Shakur doesn't want to get hit. Ok, that't fair, unless you're a BOXER in the ring with ANOTHER BOXER who is trying to take your head off.
